In the Ole Miss Softball Complex, Angelina DeLeon and Lexie Brady led their team to a 7-3 victory over Southern Miss in a softball game. The Rebels’ pitching was strong, with Grace Sparks striking out five batters over 3.2 innings and improving her record to 6-1. Brianna Lopez finished off the game and secured the win for Ole Miss.
Southern Miss scored first in the game, but Ole Miss quickly responded with three runs in the bottom of the first inning to take the lead. After Southern Miss tied things up in the second inning, Sparks came into the game and pitched effectively to keep things level. The Rebels broke the tie in the fourth inning with two more runs, thanks to hits from DeLeon and Ryan Starr. Lassiter delivered a two-run single to put Ole Miss ahead 5-3.
DeLeon then extended Ole Miss’s lead with a two-run home run in the sixth inning, making it a 7-3 game. Lopez closed out the game with a strong seventh inning to secure the victory for Ole Miss.
