Blessing Health welcomes community to discover cutting-edge robotic-assisted technology at open house

At Blessing Health in Quincy, knee replacement surgery patients can now experience a new level of precision and efficiency thanks to the hospital’s recent introduction of the Velys Robotic-Assisted Technology. During an open house event, doctors demonstrated how the robot works in conjunction with surgeons’ hands to improve alignment, balance, and cuts.

Using Velys technology can shorten surgery time by approximately two hours, explained Dr. Darr Leutz from Blessing Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. This cutting-edge technology allows patients to go home on the same day of the procedure, reducing recovery time significantly. Many patients have shown significant progress within two weeks post-surgery, some even without the need for a cane or with full motion already restored.

Since its introduction in July of the previous year, Blessing Health has successfully completed over 125 knee replacement surgeries using the Velys Robotic-Assisted Technology. This advancement in knee replacement procedures at the hospital offers patients a more efficient and effective treatment option that sets it apart from other hospitals in the Tri-States area.
