In Cleveland, José Ramírez homered in the eighth inning to help lead the Guardians to a 4-1 victory over the Red Sox. Tyler Freeman and Bryan Rocchio also contributed RBIs in the seventh inning as Cleveland continued their impressive start to the season.
Meanwhile, in Pittsburgh, Andrew McCutchen hit a leadoff home run for the second straight game, Bailey Falter pitched a shutout into the eighth inning, and the Pirates defeated the Brewers 2-1.
McDonald’s dramatic seventh-inning rally fell just short on Tuesday as Mineral Ridge secured an 8-7 road victory over them. The day before, McDonald had won at home on an eighth-inning error that allowed them to score. Meanwhile, Belle O’Brien tossed a no-hitter, hit a home run, and drove in four RBIs as McDonald shut out Mineral Ridge 21-0.
