Spanish Investment Dominated by BlackRock, Amundi, and JP Morgan

International fund managers in Spain have witnessed an increase in the assets they manage for their clients, reaching a total of 276 billion euros as of March. This represents an increase of 11,000 million euros compared to the start of 2024, according to estimates by the sector’s employers’ association, Inverco.

The two primary reasons behind this growth are the profitability of portfolios due to market rises and increased inflows of money compared to outflows over the last three months. Investors who choose foreign management firms in Spain are often opting for ETFs or passive management strategies that replicate an index. Around 35.4% of all assets were invested in ETFs at the end of March, amounting to nearly 76,000 million euros. Equities and fixed income investments also remain popular among investors.

BlackRock holds the top position among international fund managers in Spain with total assets under management of 46,955 million euros, followed closely by Amundi and JP Morgan. Other notable players in the industry include DWS, Fidelity International, Morgan Stanley, and Pictet.
