Assistance for mental health is accessible to North Texans – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

The Momentous Institute is launching a toolkit and hosting a free panel to help families navigate the mental health crisis. Executive Director Dr. Jessica Gomez emphasizes the importance of addressing mental health issues and reducing stigma associated with it. Despite increased attention on mental health, there is still a need to improve access to services and educational opportunities.

Dr. Gomez highlighted the prevalence rates of mental illness in the state and the lack of access to care, ranking last among all states. She emphasized the importance of elevating the conversation around mental health and promoting strategies to cultivate mental wellness.

The institute will be hosting a free event on April 30th at 5:30 pm at Collin College Frisco Campus, where attendees will have the chance to win tickets to the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. Players and caddies will have ways they maintain their mental health displayed on their bibs instead of their names as part of their support for mental health awareness by wearing green ribbons.
