Trine introduces new environmental science degree

Trine University is proud to introduce its new Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science degree program. Drawing on its strengths in sciences and engineering, this program aims to equip students with the necessary skills to understand and address the environmental challenges facing our planet.

Located in the Rinker-Ross School of Health Sciences, the Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science prepares students for various careers in fields related to the environment, law, health and safety, or public policy. According to Lexie Staten, Dean of the School of Health Sciences, this program focuses on examining and improving the health of both the planet and its inhabitants. It is crucial to train professionals who can collect, analyze, and interpret data related to the environment and the impact of human activities on it.

The degree program provides students with hands-on fieldwork and research projects, preparing them for careers as environmental scientists, conservation scientists, environmental educators, lawyers, environmental policy analysts or environmental health and safety specialists. With the Bureau of Labor Services projecting above-average job growth in this field over the next decade
