Fifth place achieved by Beacon Academy’s Science Olympiad team in state competition

The Beacon Academy Science Olympiad team recently competed in the Illinois State competition at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. This was the second year in a row that the team earned a bid to compete at this level. The competition featured 25 high school teams in Division A from across the state, all vying for top honors in a series of events that tested their knowledge of science concepts, process skills, and applications.

The Beacon Academy Trailblazers had a successful weekend at the competition, placing well in several individual events and as a team. They excelled in Codebusters, Fermi Questions, Forensics, Geological Mapping, Microbe Mission, Robot Tour, Tower, and Wind Power.

Overall, the Beacon Academy team finished fifth in Division A, demonstrating their incredible performance across all 23 events. Throughout the season, they exhibited positive attitudes, teamwork, and the ability to apply their scientific knowledge under pressure. Congratulations to the team on a fantastic Science Olympiad season!
