Columbia Business Under Investigation by AG Bailey for Alleged Deceptive Practices Related to E-Cigarettes

The Missouri Attorney General, Andrew Bailey, is investigating several businesses in the state that are selling illegal vape and marijuana products. Vape Society Supplies in Columbia was one of the businesses targeted, along with others in Wentzville, Kansas City, and St. Louis. Bailey claims that these businesses are violating the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act by selling e-cigarettes and vapes deceptively and Delta-8 products in illegal means.

In response to the investigation, Bailey requested documents and information from the businesses, including information on business owners, organizational charts, products sold, terms of sale, inventory, and more for all locations where the businesses conduct business. He set a deadline of May 10 for compliance.

Prior to this investigation, the Food and Drug Administration had issued a warning letter to Vape Society Supplies regarding electronic nicotine delivery system and e-liquid products. The FDA cited specific products being sold without the appropriate marketing authorization order.

ABC 17 News reached out to Vape Society Supplies for comment on the investigation, and updates will be provided as the story develops.
